Eduardo Kobra is a street artist from São Paulo. You've likely come across his work without even knowing it; he has painted over 3,000 murals on five different continents. He was gracious enough to let me experiment with one of my favorites.
I made in total 18 murals around the city, and their goal is an urge for peace for all kinds of social justice, against racism, against violence. It was a period of 5 months, filled with challenges, but I leave with a feeling of accomplishment, having achieved something I have dreamed of, painting around New York, a city that is key to the history of street art. Thank you, NY.
I was graduating college in 2018, when Kobra was working on his "Colors of Freedom Series." Prior to coming to NYC for work, I'd been developing concepts in AR but the job search process had me drained. I came across Kobra's "Club 27" mural after a fruitless interview and felt inspired to create for the first time in a while.
