Erie Canal Bicentennial: Waterway of Change

While the Erie Canal is often celebrated as an industrial triumph, its deeper human stories—especially those of Indigenous peoples and immigrant laborers—have remained largely unseen. For the Bicentennial, we reframed this history through a more inclusive lens, animating the Canalside waterfront through an immersive introduction video that invited visitors to encounter the city’s complex past as part of the landscape itself.
