Louisiana Civil Rights Museum Media Wall

Louisiana Civil Rights Museum Media Wall

Public memory of the Civil Rights Movement often centers on iconic moments in Alabama and Georgia, overlooking the critical role Louisiana played in shaping the movement’s earliest strategies—including the first bus boycott. In collaboration with the Louisiana State Museums, we designed the Louisiana Civil Rights Museum to bring this foundational history into focus.

Rather than presenting the story as a linear sequence of events, the museum is conceived as a space for deep listening—centering the voices of local activists whose actions sparked national change. A large-scale media wall welcomes visitors at the threshold, situating them within the historical moment while underscoring the movement’s continued relevance today.
